I moved to Hong Kong from the United Kingdom as a young teacher in the 1980’s. Since then my career has taken me to many countries across the globe. I have held senior leadership positions in International Schools in Hong Kong, the Bahamas and most recently, South Korea.

My philosophy of education and of life is exemplified by an open-minded, balanced and caring approach where human relationships and clarity of communication are of the utmost importance.

At the centre of everything is always the learner, student safety and well-being, as we continuously partner together to develop confident, skillful, knowledgeable, compassionate young people who will truly make a difference in the world.

In my leisure time, I enjoy a round of golf, swimming and choral singing.

I am committed to helping students become who they want to be. I believe in providing and guiding meaningful learning experiences for the students so that they know what they are learning, how they are learning and, most importantly, why they are learning it.

Originally I am from the United States, however, I grew up here in Singapore! I am an alumnus from ISS International School and this is my first year at ISS as a classroom teacher. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to teach at the school that gave so much to me.

I strongly believe in the value of outdoor and inquiry-based learning. My aim is to create an environment where the children can feel safe, valued and therefore ready to learn. A goal for me is always to instil a love of learning right from the very start. I believe that when children are having fun, the skills they learn will translate to all areas of life. I also believe that when children love to learn, it creates a culture of lifelong learning.
