Our Philosophy

ECAs are an integral part of our school’s effort to provide a holistic education for our students.

At ISS International School, we believe that:

Our Aim

  • To provide a platform for leadership and facilitate development of social-emotional skills.
  • To allow our students to learn ECA-related skills and concepts.
  • To cultivate a passion for sports , the Arts and service learning.
  • To provide opportunities for the students to contribute to the school.
  • To allow each and every student to maximise their potential.

Primary School ECAs

Our Primary School students are offered a wide variety of Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) which allow students to explore their interests or try new activities outside of the school curriculum. ECAs are offered by internal teachers and run on campus.

ECAs are not just about sports. There is an ECA for every student’s interest at ISS. A high level of interaction with friends is encouraged through a range of activities from craft and computing to coding and photography.

ISS offers ECAs ranging from sports like volleyball and football to art courses, Music Club, Science Club and a range of other activities. In addition to other programmes, our students participate in Sports Day and the Swim Gala annually. These events provide opportunities for every student in the school to compete in many different events.

How are ECAS assigned?

We offer equal opportunity for all students to participate in our ECA programme. We use an online sign up form. We make every effort to ensure that every student is accepted to an ECA. All students can participate in 2 ECAs per semester.

High School ECAs

The ISS Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) programme is the heart of the Activity component of our Creativity, Activity and Service requirement for all ISS students. Students in the High School have a wide variety of activities to choose from including community service, special interest clubs, varsity sports teams and some students even start their own ECA. ISS participates in the Athletic Conference of Singapore International Schools (ACSIS) league for varsity sports including volleyball, football and many more. Although the High School is located in town and has some space constraints – this has however not limited the students in their ECA choices.
